The Lambe Lambe Theatre began in Brazil in 1989, thanks to Denise Santos and Ismine Lima. Inspired by old photographers in Brazil called Lambe Lambe Photographers (and “Minuteros” or Crate Photographer in Chile), they created their first lambe lambe show titled “The Childbirth Dance”.

Lambe Lambe Theatre is a scenic language of animation theatre that is developed inside a small scenic box. With miniature puppets and/or objects, along with music and/or voice, it stages secret theatrical situations in just a few minutes. These can be seen by one or two audience members at a time. Most of the stories are not spoken and aim to captivate the audience through their simplicity with intimate and secret moments.

Spectators put on headphones and look into a small window. On the opposite side, the actor/animator stages the play by manipulating lights, sound, and puppets. Most of the stories are not spoken and aim to captivate the audience through their simplicity with intimate and secret moments.
